Its hollow structure represents 80% of its volume. This cavity traps air, making it an amazing insulator. Its walls are naturally coated with a layer of wax, which as an hydrophobic barrier, protecting it from bad weather. Naturally antibacterial, the fiber resist odors.<\/p>\n<p>Being naturally hydrophobic, the fiber is fast drying. Even wet, it retains its insulating properties. Many studies have been undertaken to examine its characteristics and various applications across industries.
